Welcome to Reverso ("we", "our", or "us"). Reverso is a language flashcard and vocabulary learning application available on iOS and Android. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use our mobile application.

We are committed to protecting the privacy of all users, regardless of age, gender, nationality, or location. This policy is written in plain language so that anyone can understand it.

By using Reverso, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

3. Information We Collect

All flashcard content, decks, groups, settings, and preferences are stored only on your device using local on-device storage.

Push notifications are optional and used for reminders. AI chat sends messages to Google Gemini for replies. Camera and photo library are requested only when you add images in chat or attach front/back flashcard images. The Import tab uses the system document picker so you can choose files to import; only files you select are accessed, and they are processed on your device.

Subscription status is processed via RevenueCat and the platform stores. We do not store payment card details.

4. How We Use Information

  • Provide app features (flashcards, AI chat, voice, AI card info).
  • Verify and manage subscriptions.
  • Schedule and send study reminders when you enable notifications in Settings (system push via Expo Notifications).
  • Diagnose and fix technical issues.
  • Provide optional home screen widgets (e.g. streaks) that show on-device data; widgets extend the app and do not collect additional data.

We do not sell personal data and do not use data for advertising profiling.

5. Third-Party Services

Apple App Store, Google Play, RevenueCat, Google Gemini, and Expo/EAS may process limited data according to their own policies.

6. Children's Privacy

Reverso is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Parents/guardians should supervise AI chat usage.

7. Your Rights & Choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights such as access, deletion, correction, portability, objection, and withdrawal of consent.

Most app data is on-device and can be removed by deleting app data or uninstalling the app.

8. International Users

Reverso is available worldwide. Third-party services may process data internationally under their compliance mechanisms.

9. Data Security

We apply reasonable safeguards. Device-level protection (PIN, biometrics, encryption) is a key part of your security.

10. Data Retention

  • Local app data remains until you delete it or uninstall the app.
  • Subscription data is retained by RevenueCat, Apple App Store, and Google Play Store as required.
  • AI request data retention is subject to provider policy.

11. Information We Access

Permissions are functionally similar on iOS and Android.

  • Microphone/Audio settings: voice and pronunciation features.
  • Camera/Photo library: images you choose in chat or flashcard front/back.
  • Push notifications: reminders and app notifications.
  • Internet: only for AI chat, AI card info, and subscription verification.
  • Document picker / file import: only files you choose when importing are read; used for import features on your device (via Expo document picker).

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy and revise the Last Updated date.
