Terms of Use — Contactos

1. Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to Contactos("Contactos", "we", "our", or "us").
By downloading, installing, or using the Contactos mobile application on iOS or Android, you agree to these Terms of Use ("Terms").

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the app.


2. Eligibility

You may use Contactos only if you can legally enter into a binding agreement under applicable law.
If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you must use Contactos with permission of a parent or legal guardian.


3. License to Use the App

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Contactos for personal, non-commercial use.

You may not:

  • copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, sublicense, or reverse engineer the app, except where permitted by law;
  • use the app for unlawful, abusive, or fraudulent activity;
  • attempt to interfere with app security, availability, or integrity.

All rights not expressly granted are reserved by us.


4. App Features and Service Scope

Contactos provides contact and call-management functionality, including:

  • organizing contacts into custom groups and favorites;
  • syncing with your device contacts agenda when you grant permission;
  • viewing recent calls on supported Android devices when you grant permission;
  • placing phone calls from the app on supported devices;
  • adding photos, notes, and messenger handles to contacts;
  • exporting contacts to TXT, CSV, or PDF;
  • sharing contact details via the system share sheet or messenger apps.

Features may change over time. We may add, modify, or remove features at any time.


5. User Content and Device Data

You are responsible for the contact information and content you add to Contactos, including names, phone numbers, notes, and images.

You agree not to use Contactos to store or share content that:

  • violates applicable law;
  • infringes intellectual property or privacy rights;
  • contains harmful, abusive, discriminatory, or illegal material.

Contact data you manage in the app is primarily stored on your device. When you sync with the device agenda or export/share contacts, you control what leaves the app through your actions and system permissions.


6. Third-Party Services

Contactos may interact with third-party services when you choose to use related features, including:

  • Apple App Store / Google Play (distribution);
  • WhatsApp, Telegram, and Viber (when you open messenger links);
  • your device phone, contacts, and share systems;
  • Expo and related mobile infrastructure.

Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies.


7. Privacy

Your use of Contactos is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

By using Contactos, you acknowledge that processing described in the Privacy Policy may occur.


8. Intellectual Property

The app, branding, software, UI, and related materials (excluding your own content) are owned by us or our licensors and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You may not use our name, logo, or brand assets without prior written permission.


9. Acceptable Use and Restrictions

You agree not to:

  • use Contactos to violate any law or regulation;
  • upload malware, attempt unauthorized access, or disrupt services;
  • scrape, harvest, or collect data from the app in unauthorized ways;
  • use Contactos to harass, spam, or misuse contact information.

We may limit or suspend access if we reasonably believe these Terms are violated.


10. Disclaimers

Contactos is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

We do not guarantee that:

  • the app will be uninterrupted or error-free;
  • all contact or call data will always be available or accurate;
  • device sync, call log, or messenger integrations will work on every device.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so some parts of this section may not apply to you.


11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill resulting from your use of Contactos.

If liability cannot be excluded, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for Contactos in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim (or USD 50 if greater).

This does not limit liability where prohibited by law.


12. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Contactos and its operators from claims, liabilities, damages, and expenses arising from:

  • your misuse of the app;
  • your violation of these Terms;
  • your violation of third-party rights or applicable law.

13. Termination

You may stop using Contactos at any time.

We may suspend or terminate access to some or all features at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you violated these Terms or if required for legal/security reasons.

Sections that by nature should survive termination remain in effect (for example, intellectual property, disclaimers, liability limits).


14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date.

Your continued use of Contactos after updates means you accept the revised Terms.


15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by applicable laws of the jurisdiction where the app operator is established, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your place of residence provide otherwise.

You and we agree to attempt to resolve disputes in good faith before initiating formal proceedings.

These Terms of Use apply to Contactos version 0.0.2 and above on iOS and Android. The legal text is provided in English.
