VoiceTTS is a local-first document reader and text-to-speech application for iOS and Android that lets you import your own documents and have them read aloud. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use our mobile application.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. VoiceTTS is designed to be local-first: your documents, reading positions, settings, and preferences stay on your device. This policy is written in plain language so that anyone can understand it.

3. Information We Collect

Documents you import (such as PDF, EPUB, DOCX, TXT, and scanned images), your reading positions, settings, and preferences are stored only on your device using local on-device storage.

Speech synthesis uses offline neural voices that are bundled with the app or downloaded into it, and text recognition (OCR) — including the optional OCR-correction model — runs on your device. Voice packs and models are downloaded once from the developer's model registry and then work offline. Camera and photo library access is requested only when you scan or import a picture into a document.

Purchases and subscription status are processed by RevenueCat and the Apple App Store or Google Play. We do not store payment card details.

4. How We Use Information

Provide app features such as importing and reading your own documents, offline text-to-speech, and on-device OCR.
Verify and manage subscriptions.
Play back documents and send reminders when you enable notifications.
Diagnose and fix technical issues.
Download optional voice packs and models once from the developer's registry so they can then be used offline.

We do not sell personal data and do not use data for advertising profiling.

5. Third-Party Services

Apple App Store, Google Play, RevenueCat, and Expo/EAS may process limited data according to their own policies.

6. Children's Privacy

VoiceTTS is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Local data can be removed by deleting app data or uninstalling the app.

7. Your Rights & Choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights such as access, deletion, correction, portability, objection, and withdrawal of consent.

Most app data is on-device and can be removed by deleting app data or uninstalling the app.

8. International Users

VoiceTTS is available worldwide. Your documents and reading data stay on your device unless you export or share them yourself.

9. Data Security

We apply reasonable safeguards. Device-level protection (PIN, biometrics, encryption) is a key part of your security.

10. Data Retention

Local app data remains until you delete it or uninstall the app.
Subscription data is retained by RevenueCat, Apple App Store, and Google Play as required.
Downloaded voice packs and models remain on your device until you remove them or uninstall the app.

11. Information We Access

Permissions are requested only for features you use.

Microphone: voice features you start yourself.
Camera/Photo library: only when you scan or import a picture into a document.
Notifications: playback and reminders.
Internet: only for downloading voice models and verifying subscriptions.
Document picker/file import: only the files you choose.
